Large blue hand painted 'Pinder Bourne' plate by R.O.Haweis 1883.

A unique very large hand painted and glazed plate. 'Pinder Bourne' factory,Burslem and dedicated vers: to Mary Paynter ,his daughter by The Reverend Haweis  in 1883.

IN 1883 Rev J.O.W. HAWEIS,  who was the rector at St Mary's Church Slaugham a delightful church in West Sussex, painted on  the plate is a picture of his daughter Mary Paynter.Both  J .O. W Haweis and his wife Margaret have wonderful stained glass windows dedicated to them in St Mary's Church Slaugham.(http://www.stmarysparish.org.uk)
Rev John Oliver Haweis's grandson Stephen Haweis was married to the famous Mina Loy (born 1882 - died 1966 ) British artist, writer, poet, playwright, novelist, futurist, feminist, designer of lamps, and a true 'bohemian'.
